The flashing signs. The “deals.” The endless promises of products to fix, smooth, slim or perfect. Anti-aging creams, miracle hair treatments, red light masks, weight-loss supplements… the list goes on.
It’s exhausting. The constant barrage of messages can wear anyone down.
Even when you know better, the messages are everywhere: society tells women that as we age, we’re less relevant, less attractive, less deserving. But here’s the thing—that’s not my story. And it’s not yours either.
This weekend, instead of chasing or offering the flashiest deals, we chose the 'live love local' path and sold our products where it's super meaningful to us — at a regional holiday market connecting with women from northern communities and beyond into Alberta. Seeing familiar faces, hearing their stories, meeting new people and sharing our natural skincare reminded me what matters most. Your connection, trust and stories are why we keep doing this work.
We didn’t offer “crazy” discounts. For a small business like ours, deep deals aren’t sustainable—between the cost of quality ingredients, shipping and the time put into researching and crafting each product, every dollar matters. What we offer instead is products made with care, integrity, and purpose.
Supporting small businesses isn’t just a purchase. It’s a choice. A way to put your money behind what you care about: community, sustainability, honesty and quality. A quiet rebellion against the idea that our worth is tied to trends or appearances.
So yes, we sold products this weekend—but it wasn’t about hype, extreme discounts or chasing trends. It was about connection, care and supporting rural women, near and far, in a sustainable way that respects the work behind every product.
This weekend doesn’t have to be about buying more. It can be about choosing better. About valuing what really matters.
And that’s a deal worth keeping.
